Why It’s Delusional to Think Trump Didn’t Cheat in 2024
There’s an article by Greg Palast in which he asserts that millions of votes were rejected or not counted — meaning Kamala Harris actually won the 2024 election.
David Pakman points out, rightly, that Palast doesn’t provide any proof for his assertions.
While I agree the proof is absent (at least at this time), it only follows:
The Republicans have cheated in every election since 2000.
The last duly elected Republican president was George Herbert Walker Bush.
Although I strenuously disagreed with most of his policies, I had the utmost respect for Bush the Father — he paid his political dues and, for the most part, was a man of his word.
(Parenthetically, I’ll add: he was also a former director of the CIA. Meaning, as Kevin Pollak pointed out, "he was, at some point, the best liar available.")
In 2000, Bush (the Decider) ran against Al Gore.
In a surprising and unprecedented action, a narrow (minded) conservative majority on the Supreme Court ordered the vote counting to stop in Florida, thereby handing the presidency to George W. Bush.
(And again, parenthetically: this seems to be the point where Clarence Thomas made it clear he would, with reckless abandon, fellate any billionaire putz properly presented to him — but I digress.)
Bush held the White House by running on what Al Franken called “fears, smears, and queers.”
That’s an important characterization because Republicans have continued to run on the same platform — again and again and again.
Once again, as in 2000, Republicans cheated — suppressing and even outright stealing votes in Ohio and several other swing states.
In 2008, Barack Obama won in a landslide — even though, once again, it’s well-documented that Republicans tried to cheat.
They just couldn’t overcome the numbers.
This was also the point when Sarah Palin entered the political landscape and reintroduced hatred and outright racism into presidential campaigning.
Obama won reelection in 2012, but that didn’t mean Republicans didn’t cheat — they just lost again anyway.
In 2016, Republicans continued putting their thumbs on the scales, but this time they got an assist from Vladimir Putin and a conglomerate of Russian hackers. That, along with James Comey’s bumbling, fumbling, and otherwise mishandling of Hillary Clinton’s email investigation, handed the White House to Gotham City’s new Clown Prince of Crime: Donald Trump.
In the now-infamous words of Herman Cain, "I don’t have facts to back this up," but:
The reason Donald Trump doesn’t believe he lost the election in 2020 is because, just like in 2016, he knows he got a massive assist from his buddy Vladimir Putin.
So, in his mind, there’s no way he could have lost.
So — though I admittedly took the long way around — I said all that to say:
Why would we now believe that Donald Trump did not cheat in 2024?
I’m just saying.
